Reimbursement support in Ireland including gathering clinician opinion and leading negotiations with HSE Commercial Pharmaceutical Unit team

Our client required support for the reimbursement of their product in Ireland. This included gathering clinical opinion to demonstrate the clinical need and demand for the product. In addition, Initiate was commissioned to manage and lead the negotiations with the HSE Commercial Pharmaceutical Unit (CPU) team.

Our response included the contracting and delivery of a modified Delphi panel (face to face) including notification and involvement of the Health Products Regulatory Authority (HPRA). The modified Delphi consisted of a two-part (interviews and panel meeting) process to gain consensus. A full report was compiled for the CPU. Initiate also managed all responses to the CPU and prepared the client for negotiations.

The project provided the client with strategic reimbursement support in Ireland by effectively gathering clinical insights and managing complex negotiations with the CPU. By organising and conducting a robust modified Delphi panel process, including engaging with key regulatory authorities, the project demonstrated clinical need and built consensus among clinicians. The report and our expert guidance during negotiations equipped the client with the necessary evidence and confidence to secure reimbursement for their product, ensuring a successful outcome in a competitive healthcare environment.
