Innovative health economic modelling for a haematology drug

Client need

The client needed to achieve a positive HTA recommendation for a product that had previously been refused recommendation on more than one occasion. Challenges associated with the product included a lack of data to compare it to a relevant comparator, and a series of criticisms of its existing modelling.

Our response

We carried out a targeted literature review to build a relevant network for data analysis, and decided to conduct a matching adjusted indirect comparison (MAIC). We built new modules and corrected a series of errors with the inherited model.

Client value

Our modelling demonstrated the drug’s cost-effectiveness, in turn allowing for more positive engagement with the HTA authority. This led to a positive recommendation for the product.
